The Treasure Valley is a mere 2.5-hour drive from the beautiful resort town of Sun Valley, packed with award-winning restaurants, gorgeous galleries, and impressive mountains for you to bike, hike, and fish. What are you waiting for? Fall is the perfect time for you to take that weekend trip you've been talking about all year.
We loved our own stay at the Limelight Hotel in downtown Ketchum; in addition to amazing (dog-friendly) rooms of all sizes, the hotel also has an in-house bar and restaurant, live music, an outdoor pool and hottub adjacent to a large patio with fire pits for cool autumn days.
What’s better, the Limelight has perfect proximity to all the downtown happenings and gorgeous views! There are tons of fall events in Ketchum that are the perfect excuse to get out of town and take in all Ketchum has to offer.

Hit the Slopes in Style!
Bald Mountain opens each year on Thanksgiving Day, no matter what, thanks to its iconic snow-making abilities, so winter is coming earlier than you think!
Lift tickets can be purchased online for a discount or at the walk-up window, as well as a variety of season passes, including with partners Mountain Collective and Ikon. After a long day on the slopes, enjoy Limelight’s hot tub or happening après scene, complete with happy hour specials and live music.
The Limelight Hotel is situated mere blocks from the River Run side of Bald Mountain, making it a breeze to get from your hotel room onto the mountain in moments.
Fancy heli-skiing? Or maybe you’re more into cross-country skiing and ice skating. Whatever snowy adventure calls to you, the Limelight Hotel can get you there.

Sun Valley is practically synonymous with being active outdoors, so bring your tennis shoes and your competitive spirit for these fall events!
On October 18, join the Boulder Mountain Bike Tour to celebrate the closing day of Galena Lodge for the season by riding from a meeting point in town all the way up to the lodge. There will be lunch, drinks, merch specials and live music awaiting participants at Galena!
The annual Baldy Hill Climb is an excellent way to take in some views of Ketchum from atop famous Bald Mountain, but is not for the weak of heart (or legs)! This year’s race to the top of the 3,140-foot (1.86-mile) mountain takes place September 24th. The whole family is welcome, as kiddos 11 and younger can compete in the Kinderclimb, which is just a 300 vertical-feet course.
